Welcome to Mezzanine Floor Source

A Mezzanine floor is the cost-effective solution for firms that need extra space to grow and develop.

It creates an intermediate floor just above the ground floor, with both levels sharing the same ceiling, and is often used in shops to store tools or materials, or to create storage space above offices.

Warehouse mezzanine floors are becoming increasing popular in industrial buildings with high ceilings, while the mezzanine platform provides low cost extra floor space, so firms don’t need to relocate as they grow.
Whether you require raised offices, greater storage capacity or additional retail space, a mezzanine floor could well be the answer.

Mezzanine Floors, Mezzanine Platforms, Warehouse Mezzanine Floors

Mezzanine floors, sometimes referred to as mezzanine platforms, often project themselves from the walls. In their nature they do not completely close the view of the ceiling which you get from the ground floor; this in turn creates a feeling of space. So in other words, mezzanine floors and the ground floor therefore share the same ceiling. There is a belief that a mezzanine floor is always located between the ground floor and the first floor but it is also possible to have mezzanine floors in the upper floors of a building as well.

In industrial applications, mezzanine floor installation is typically a semi-permanent floor system which is in place between two permanent original stories. These structures are usually free standing and in most cases it is possible for these to be dismantled and relocated. Commercially sold mezzanine platforms are generally constructed from three main materials; steel, aluminium, and fibreglass. The decking or flooring of a mezzanine will vary by application but is generally composed of a b-deck underlay and wood product finished floor or a heavy duty steel, aluminium or fibreglass grating.

The mezzanine is often used in shop units and similar businesses in the creation of extra space for the storage of tools, materials or stock. The high roof of the shop is ideal for a mezzanine where offices can be put either below or above it. Mezzanine floors are also frequently used in industrial operations such as warehousing, distribution or manufacturing. These facilities generally have high ceilings, allowing unused space to be utilized more effectively within the vertical cube. Industrial mezzanine structures are typically either structural, roll formed, rack-supported, or shelf-supported, allowing high density storage within the mezzanine structure. This allows a business to grow and develop without the inconvenience of relocation.
